Teaching

 

  BMSAR is and has been a source of training to the Berkshire County community and beyond since its inception. In addition to an extensive "in-house" training schedule, the Team provides training to local fire and police departments. The Team has also provided considerable support and training to other regional and Massachusetts SAR teams and State agencies.

  The Team has a series of lectures offered to civil groups and organizations such as the Boy Scouts, church groups, outdoor/recreation groups and the like. A number of Team members are Map, Compass and Survival instructors for the Massachusetts Hunter Education Program. The Team also has members who are accredited instructors in first-aid, EMT, CPR, high/low angle rescue, and scuba.
